In a high-stakes anti-terror operation named Operation Nader, security forces neutralized three terrorists in the Nader area of Tral, Awantipora. The joint operation, involving the Indian Army, J&K Police, and Srinagar Sector CRPF, was launched based on specific intelligence regarding terrorist movement.

IGP Kashmir Zone Vidhi Kumar Birdi, speaking to reporters, confirmed:

“Security forces got specific information regarding the movement of terrorists in that area. Accordingly, a cordon was laid, which led to an encounter. So far, we have observed three bodies of terrorists. The operation is still ongoing.”

Final Identification Awaited

While confirming the neutralization of three terrorists, IGP Birdi stressed that identities and affiliations of the deceased militants would only be revealed after the operation concludes.

“This encounter is part of an all-out effort to decimate the terror ecosystem. It reflects the swift resolve of security forces to neutralize threats and maintain control in the region.”

Pahalgam Attack Link Under Probe

When asked whether the terrorists involved in the encounter had any link to the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, IGP Birdi refrained from confirming any association at this stage:

“The operation is yet to conclude. We will divulge the identity and affiliation only after that.”

Continued Anti-Terror Offensive

The encounter marks another significant strike in the ongoing counter-insurgency campaign in Jammu and Kashmir. With heightened vigilance across the Valley, security forces are stepping up operations in known hotspots and infiltration-prone zones.

Earlier, the Chinar Corps of the Indian Army tweeted about the launch of the cordon and search operation, citing suspicious activity and heavy fire from terrorists after being challenged.

The situation remains tense in the area as search and sanitizationoperations continue.
