For the past several days, several major airports across India have been witnessing massive chaos. More than 2,000 flights have been cancelled in the last five days, leaving thousands of passengers stranded for hours inside terminals. Many complained about long queues, lack of information, and shortage of basic facilities as the disruption hit travel plans nationwide.
Anurag Dhanda Targets Centre Over Crisis
Amid the uproar, AAP’s National Media Incharge Anurag Dhanda strongly criticised the Central Government. Taking to X, he wrote:
“The Government of India has surrendered before one company.
The truth behind the slogan of letting even the ‘chappal-wearing common man’ fly is now exposed.Modi government has put the lives of air travellers at risk.
How long will this government continue to play with people’s safety just to favour its businessman friends?”
Dhanda’s sharp statement has gone viral as passengers continue to express frustration across social media.
DGCA Rolls Back Decision Amid Rising Chaos
With the situation worsening at Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and other airports, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) was forced to roll back its earlier order to ease the pressure and bring operations back on track.
IndiGo Issues Update: Operations Returning to Normal
IndiGo, India’s largest airline, released a detailed update, assuring that operations are gradually stabilising.
The airline said:
“Due to recent disruptions across our network, we had cancelled a large number of flights.
Yesterday, we operated 700+ flights connecting 113 destinations, mainly to restore systems and crew rosters.Today, we are on track to operate 1,500+ flights by the end of the day.”
IndiGo also confirmed that over 95% of its network connectivity has already been restored, with 135 out of 138 destinations now operational.
Passengers Advised to Check Updates
Airlines have advised travellers to check live flight status before heading to the airport, as minor route adjustments may continue for the next 24–48 hours.
