Passport News: Relief! Passport Adalat Scheduled in May and June to Tackle Pending Applications – Check Details

Passport News

Passport News: In an effort to expedite the processing of pending passport applications, the Regional Passport Office in Kolkata will hold Passport Adalats on selected Tuesdays in May and June. This innovative method seeks to solve issues caused by candidates’ incorrect details or incomplete applications.

Scheduled Sessions

The dates of the Passport Adalats are May 21 and 28, in addition to June 11 and 18. These are sessions intended to hold a large number of candidates; up to 800 people can be accommodated on each date.

Structured Time Slots

The sessions, which will run from 9.30 am to 5.30 pm, have been separated into five time blocks to guarantee efficiency. 160 requests may fit inside each slot, ensuring a moderate flow of applicants throughout the day.

Special Procedures

The standard phone inquiries and walk-in appointments will be temporarily discontinued during the Passport Adalats. Rather, candidates must follow certain requirements in order to be accepted. Only fifteen minutes before the scheduled time slot, admission will be allowed.

Document Requirements

All required documents must be presented in original copy by the applicants. They are also told to carry a letter that is stamped with a walk-in entrance seal and marked “Passport Adalat.” This guarantees efficient identification and processing throughout the occasion.

Accompanying Minors

Parents are strongly encouraged to accompany minor applicants. This not only facilitates smoother processing but also ensures compliance with regulations regarding minor passport issuance.
