Patna News: Government’s Farmer-Centric Approach: PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana

Farmer

In its unwavering commitment to the agricultural sector, the Central Government has strategically implemented the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana in Patna. The scheme, designed to double farmers’ income in the upcoming years, has undergone meticulous revisions to ensure its effectiveness. Notably, recent phases of the scheme witnessed the exclusion of farmers who failed to complete the verification of their land records. The government’s stringent approach aims to refine the beneficiary list and prioritize genuine recipients.

E-KYC Requirement and Exclusion Criteria

A crucial aspect of the upcoming phases of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana involves the exclusion of farmers who have not completed the e-KYC (Know Your Customer) process. This criterion adds an additional layer of authentication, aiming to weed out ineligible beneficiaries. To safeguard their eligibility and continue receiving the scheme’s benefits, farmers are urged to promptly complete their e-KYC. Common Service Centers and the PM Kisan portal provide accessible platforms for farmers to fulfill this requirement.

Empowering Smallholder Farmers: Scheme Highlights

The PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is a significant step towards empowering smallholder farmers by providing them with an annual financial support of Rs 6,000. Disbursed in three installments of Rs 2,000 each every four months through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), the scheme exclusively benefits farmers with less than two hectares of cultivable land. The recent release of the 16th installment underscores the government’s dedication to uplifting the farming community and ensuring that the scheme’s benefits reach those who genuinely contribute to the agrarian landscape.
