Amrit Bharat Train: The Indian Railways has announced the launch of the Amrit Bharat Express train between Gaya and Delhi, marking the eighth such train to be introduced in Bihar since 2023. The new train is aimed at providing affordable travel options for common people, especially ahead of the busy festive season.
Route and Stoppages
During its journey from Gaya to Delhi, the train will halt at nine major stations: Anugraha N Road, Dehri on Sone, Sasaram, Bhabua Road, DD Upadhyaya Junction, Subedarganj, Govindpuri, Tundla Junction, and Ghaziabad.
Frequency and Speed
The 13697/13698 Delhi-Gaya-Delhi Amrit Bharat Express will run twice a week. From Gaya, it will depart every Sunday and Thursday, while from Delhi, it will leave every Monday and Friday. The train is designed to run at a maximum speed of 130 kmph, ensuring faster connectivity.
Coaches and Ticket Price
The train will comprise 22 coaches – including 8 Sleeper Class coaches, 11 General coaches, 1 pantry car, and 2 SLR coaches. A Sleeper Class ticket between Gaya and Delhi is priced at just ₹560, making it budget-friendly for thousands of passengers.
Timetable Highlights
From 28th August 2025, Train No. 13697 will leave Gaya at 16:30 hrs and reach Delhi the next day at 12:00 hrs. In the return direction, Train No. 13698 will depart Delhi at 14:00 hrs from 29th August 2025 and reach Gaya the next morning at 08:55 hrs.
With this new service, the Amrit Bharat Express is expected to ease festive rush, provide affordable travel, and strengthen Bihar’s rail connectivity with the national capital.
