Public squabble between two senior women officers in Karnataka leaves Bommai Government speechless

A pitched fight between two leading women officers of Karnataka Administration has reached a new low. Such has been the intensity of their dislike for each other that Karnataka Administration led by Baavaraj Bommai is at loss of words.

State Home Minister Araga Jnanendra was dismayed at the turn of events and warned that swift action will be initiated against two officers. He was also furious and called it case of ‘bad behavior’ on part of officers.

D Roopa shares private photos of Rohini Sindhuri on Social Media

The drama started on Sunday, when D Roopa Moudgil , an IPS officer shared private photos of an IAS officer , Rohini Sindhuri on Social Media. She went on to claim that Rohini Sindhuri had violated Service Conduct Rules by sharing her photos to male IAS officers. She further alleged that photos were shared with three IAS officers in 2021 and 2022.

The photo accusation happened a day before , when D.Roopa had alleged that there was a long list of corruption cases against Rohini Sindhuri. She also stated that she had also complained to Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and Chief Secretary Vandita Sharma.

Sindhuri hits back and says “false, personal vilification campaign”

An enraged and agitated Sindhuri hit back at D Roopa through a statement and stated that she was leveling “false, personal vilification campaign” against her and threatened action.

Ms Sindhuri stated,

“She collected photos from social media and screenshots of (my) WhatsApp status to defame me. As she has alleged that I sent these pictures to some officials, I urge her to reveal their names,”.

Sindhuri also stated that D.Roopa was suffering from mental illness,

“Mental illness is a huge problem, it needs to be addressed by medication and counselling. When it affects people in responsible positions, it becomes all the more dangerous. Roopa IPS has been driving false, personal vilification campaigns against me which is her standard modus operandi,”.

Chief Minister Basavraj Bommai calls it a Personal Matter

In the meantime Karnataka Home Minister Jnanendra stated that he had discussed the row with the police chief and the Chief Minister was also aware of the situation,

“We are not sitting quiet, action will be taken against them. They both are behaving in such a bad way – not even normal people speak on the streets like this. Let them do whatever they want on their personal issues, but coming before the media and behaving the way they are is not right,”

D Rupa also holds the position of Managing Director of Karnataka Handicrafts Development Corporation and Ms Sindhuri is the Commissioner of Hindu Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowment Department.

The feud between the two started when images of Ms Sindhuri sitting with Janata Dal Secular MLA Sa Ra Mahesh in a restaurant got viral. Since then two had series of public fights in which both of them has accused each other of corruption. Their fight reached its height when Sindhuri was posted in Mysuru. Accusations and counter accusations between the two leading officers has caused embarrassment to Government machinery in Karnataka with Chief Minister Bommai calling it a “personal matter”.
