Punjab News: Bhagwant Mann, the chief minister of Punjab, declared on Friday that his administration would make up every single penny lost due to the state’s devastation by the floods. A special “girdawari” (survey to assess losses) will be carried out to determine the amount of crops, residences, and other property lost as a result of the state’s high rains.
CM Mann Visits Flood-Affected Areas
Earlier this week, a torrential downpour severely damaged Punjab. According to a release, Mann visited the Nihala Lavera community to observe the relief efforts while touring the damaged districts. Mann assured the populace that the government is committed to protecting their interests from nature’s fury by stating that deputy commissioners have been given specific instructions to conduct ‘girdawari’ in the areas affected by the rain immediately in order to assess the damage to crops, homes, animals and others on a priority basis. Mann claimed to have extensively travelled the state to assess the situation at the local level.
CM Mann Pledges Assistance to Every Individual
Mann stated that assistance is being given to even the last person in the state’s remote regions since it is the responsibility of the state government to assist the people in their hour of need. The AAP leader noted that in order to prevent problems for the populace, a special emphasis is being placed on providing help in the worst-affected districts. He noted that rescue and assistance efforts are being prioritised in the worst-affected areas. He noted that the water flow is below the danger mark and all the state’s dams are secure. According to the Punjab chief minister, the strong water flow ruined the paddy crop in many farms. Mann claimed that the government will soon offer free saplings of high-yield paddy types in order to protect the interests of the farmers. The Agriculture Department’s Punseed, the Punjab Agriculture University, and other organisations have been told to sow saplings of these types.
Free Distribution of High-Yield Paddy Saplings to Flood-Affected Farmers
He stated that these saplings will be ready in four to five days and would then be distributed gratis. Around 15 districts have been damaged by flooding, and if necessary, growers will be given access to these saplings, according to Mann. He also claimed that the state government is supporting the farmers during this difficult time. The AAP leader praised members of the National Disaster Response Force and the Border Security Force for their assistance in the relief efforts as the floodwaters began to recede.
