Punjab News: Speak to anyone in your immediate vicinity these days, and it’s likely that they or someone they know has become a victim of Cyber Frauds. The government agency is warning the public about a number of well-known frauds that internet vendors use to deceive people out of their money. Aadhaar or PAN update scams, OTP scams, updating bank account details, and paying power bills are a few of these con games.

Punjab Police’s Proactive Approach

In this sequence, Punjab Police has begun educating the public by putting out special effort in combating cybercrime. According to the administration, the only way to prevent cyber fraud in this day and age is for people to become aware of it. People who are becoming victims of cyber fraud across the state and nation have been forewarned by Punjab Police. The administration has requested that people be on the lookout for fraudulent emails, calls, and WhatsApp messages using its official X handle.

Immediate Debit Consequence of Sharing OTP

A video featuring a fraudulent message in which a user is seen winning the jackpot has been released by Punjab Police. The user’s account is then debited as soon as he shares the OTP. The administration has warned people not to fall into the trap of manipulation by spreading memes like “Hera-Pheri” and saying, “Don’t fall for any ‘Hera Pheri,’ as everything is ‘Golmal Hai Bhai Sab Golmal Hai'”
