Another feather in the cap for Punjab! Secures 3rd Rank in promoting the Nili-Ravi Buffalow Breed

Punjab News: he Punjab city has been positioned on the third row in the upliftment of the cows and buffalos. The state got the third position in the Pedigree Selection Scheme for the Nili-Ravi buffaloes, and for the Murrah breed, it comes on the fifth rank in the Progeny testing scheme for the Sahiwal cows. The Punjab Animal Husbandry Minister says we have taken the initiate to promote Nili-Ravi buffalo in the state.

'The scheme will be over by the end of 2024'

The Minister also says that our state has already achieved the goal in Progeny Testing scheme for Murrah which was scheduled to be over by the year 2024. The Principal Secretary of Punjab state said that we have launched three projects, under these projects, the siemen stations have been given high breeds of cows and buffaloes which will help in boosting the potential of the breeds in the state.

'We'll ensure to give all Buffaloes better Medical aid and hygiene'

As of now, 536 calves have been provide to the siemen station of the state and to the other cities also. The male calves have been bought at Rs 6,500 to 65000 per male. The Principle Secretary said we’ll make sure these cows and buffaloes get quality hygiene and food and we are making all necessary efforts to provide them.
