Punjab News: The Punjab government altered the timing of schools on Saturday due to a heavy fog. The decision is applicable uniformly to all primary, middle, high, and senior secondary schools throughout the state from Monday, December 4, to Friday, December 23. The new timetable calls for schools to open at 9:30 am and to dismiss for playtime at 3:30 pm.
A Unified Schedule for Punjab Schools
The new schedule will take effect on December 4, 2023, and will require schools to open at 9.30 am and close at 3.30 pm. Primary, middle, high, and senior secondary schools are all included in this uniform change to the school schedule. The goal of the decision is to reduce any risks that could arise from unfavourable weather.

Harjot Singh Bains, the Punjabi minister of education, announced on his former Twitter account, X, that all state-run, government-aided, recognised, and private schools will open at 9:30 a.m. due to concerns for the health and safety of teachers and students amid heavy fog and changing weather in some areas of the state. All elementary, middle, high, and senior secondary schools will be subject to these directives from Monday, April 12, 2023, to Wednesday, December 23, 2023. (Version Translation).
