In a major step towards ensuring transparency and quality in infrastructure projects, Punjab has launched a first-of-its-kind initiative in the country — CM Flying Squads — to monitor ongoing work on 19,492 km of link roads across the state.

Quality control becomes the new standard

Highlighting this achievement, Anurag Dhanda tweeted that “Infrastructure development with quality control is setting new benchmarks in Punjab.” He emphasized that while many parts of India face challenges of poor road conditions, Punjab is setting an example by enforcing strict on-ground inspections.

Bhagwant Mann’s proactive governance

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, these special squads have been deployed to inspect and ensure adherence to quality standards during the construction and repair of rural and link roads. The initiative reflects the Punjab government’s commitment to building durable, high-standard road infrastructure that benefits both rural and urban residents.

Ensuring accountability and transparency

Officials said that the CM Flying Squads will conduct surprise visits, verify material usage, assess progress, and ensure contractors meet deadlines without compromising on quality. The project is expected to enhance connectivity, promote rural development, and ensure value for public funds.

With these efforts, Punjab aims to position itself as a model state in infrastructure management, setting a benchmark for others to follow.
