Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Wednesday asserted that it is writing on the wall that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will return to power with an even bigger mandate in the 2027 Assembly elections, as people have reposed immense faith in the government’s pro-people and development-oriented policies. During a Lok Milni in village Dharampura of Budhlada constituency in Mansa district, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said the unprecedented welfare initiatives undertaken by the state government have transformed Punjab and strengthened the bond between the government and the people.
Reiterating his government’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding Punjab’s rights and interests, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said the state has witnessed historic progress in every sector, from free electricity and healthcare to women empowerment and infrastructure development. He said the government has filled the developmental gap of decades, put Punjab firmly on the path of becoming a Rangla Punjab and ensured that the benefits of governance reach every household across the state.
People Throng Lok Milni Venue; Women Thank CM Bhagwant Singh Mann for Maavan Dheeyan Satkar Yojna
The Lok Milni witnessed an overwhelming response from people, with the venue packed to capacity well before CM Bhagwant Singh Mann addressed the gathering. As the crowd swelled, several residents came out onto the balconies and rooftops of their houses to listen to the Chief Minister. The enthusiastic participation reflected the strong connection between the people andCM Bhagwant Singh Mann. During the interaction, several women expressed their gratitude to CM Bhagwant Singh Mann for the Maavan Dheeyan Satkar Yojna and other welfare initiatives of his government. They said the scheme would provide financial support, dignity and greater confidence to women across Punjab.
Addressing the Lok Milni, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said the AAP government has put Punjab firmly on the path of development and is accelerating the pace of progress with every passing day. “Our government has worked relentlessly to fulfil the aspirations of the people through welfare-oriented governance, transparent administration and historic initiatives in healthcare, women empowerment, electricity and public services,” he added.
“AAP will create history in Punjab by forming the government again during the ensuing Assembly elections in 2027. The verdict of the people will be crystal clear. AAP will win more seats than it did in 2022 because the love and support of the people are with the party and the government. The initiatives taken by the state government for public welfare are unprecedented. It is a writing on the wall that Punjabis are eager to bring AAP back to power, which is why the traditional parties are baffled,” said CM Bhagwant Singh Mann.
The Chief Minister stated, “It is a matter of immense pride and satisfaction that the development of Punjab has been put on the right track and now the Punjab Government is enhancing its pace with every passing day. The state government has filled the gap of 70 years and concerted efforts are being made to carve out a Rangla Punjab.”
The AAP Government is the first government in the country to implement the People’s Manifesto because all the genuine demands raised by the people are being translated into works,” he added.
Targeting his predecessors, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “My predecessors never met the common people as they came out of their luxurious homes only after noting the temperature, whereas I am available to the people round the clock. These leaders illegally built huge palaces by amassing whopping wealth through misuse of their official positions. The walls of these palatial houses were high and their gates remained closed for ordinary people. They remained inaccessible to the public and were ultimately ousted by the masses.”
“The people of Punjab have shown the door to those who looted them turn by turn. These leaders befooled the people for a long time, but the wise people of the state are no longer getting swayed by their misleading propaganda. These haughty politicians always took the people for granted and were ultimately rejected by them. These opportunist leaders are baffled because people are not responding to them. Their agenda is confined to the welfare of their families rather than the welfare of the people,” said CM Bhagwant Singh Mann.
The Chief Minister also took on opposition parties and said, “Akali Dal has been reduced to a party of sisters-in-law. One sister-in-law is an MP and the other is an MLA. Sukhbir Badal is still in trauma due to the debacle of 2022. The former Deputy Chief Minister says he has directed all his MLAs not to attend the Vidhan Sabha, forgetting that there is only one MLA left in the SAD and that too is his relative.”
“Akalis, Congress and BJP know that they cannot compete with me politically. Therefore, they have ganged up to defame me on religious issues through fake videos created using Artificial Intelligence,” he said.
Lashing out at the Akali leadership, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “The Akali leaders mercilessly looted the state and committed numerous and unpardonable atrocities on the common man during their long and tyrannical rule. They bruised the psyche of Punjabis emotionally and patronised several mafias to ruin the state. The Akali leadership can never be forgiven because it was responsible for the genocide of several generations of Punjab. The ‘Chitta’ trade was patronised by them and flourished during their long era of misrule.”
“Akali leaders have lost their base amongst the masses. Paid workers are being used to show crowds in their rallies. In every Akali rally, the same crowd is present,” he added.
Targeting Congress, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann stated, “The Congress party is on its deathbed and will be finished very soon because it has no vision for the people and the state. Its only aim is to plunder the wealth of Punjab by assuming power, but those dreams will never be fulfilled.”
“The Congress party is a divided house that will collapse due to its infighting. It is a pity that top Congress leaders who come to unite these leaders squabbling for power are not even aware of how to pronounce their names,” he said.

Speaking on Punjab’s river waters, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann affirmed, “Our government is committed to safeguarding the interests of Punjab and no stone will be left unturned for this noble cause. Neighbouring states were hell-bent on snatching Punjab’s waters, but the state government took a firm stand and ensured that not even a single drop was shared with other states.”
“Owing to the firm stand of our government, Punjab’s water has been saved. This is the bounden duty of the government. No one will be allowed to usurp the rights of Punjab. I am sitting here as the guardian of Punjab and Punjabis. Any conspiracy to deprive us of our rights will be foiled,” he added.
The Chief Minister further stated, “The AAP government is optimally utilising every single penny of the state exchequer for the well-being of the people. More than 90% households in Punjab are getting free power. Even farmers are now getting power during the daytime, which is unprecedented.”
“At a time when the assets of the country are being given away to blue-eyed friends at throwaway prices, the Punjab Government has created history by buying a private thermal plant and naming it after Sri Guru Amardass Ji,” said CM Bhagwant Singh Mann.
Highlighting the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna, the Chief Minister noted, “To provide comprehensive healthcare to the people, the state government has launched Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna, the first-of-its-kind scheme in the country that provides cashless medical treatment up to ₹10 lakh for every resident family in Punjab.”
“It is a matter of immense pride and satisfaction that Punjab is the first Indian state to offer such comprehensive healthcare coverage. This has significantly eased the financial burden on the public while ensuring quality health services. This historic move is aimed at providing universal healthcare to all families of the state. People have already availed free treatment worth more than ₹650 crore under the scheme,” he added.
On women empowerment, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “From July 1, women beneficiaries above the age of 18 years will receive notifications on their mobile phones regarding financial assistance of ₹1,000 for women from all other categories and ₹1,500 for women from Dalit categories. The funds will be directly transferred into bank accounts and women already receiving social security pensions will also be eligible. Around 97% of women in Punjab are expected to benefit and the state government has allocated ₹9,300 crore for the scheme.”
Emphasising the social significance of the initiative, the Chief Minister stated, “While the financial assistance may not make women rich, it will provide them dignity and self-respect. Women deserve the highest respect because they are the source of life itself. The blessings of mothers and sisters can help overcome every challenge in the world. Strengthening women’s financial autonomy is essential for improving household welfare, promoting gender equity and enhancing women’s participation in social and economic decision-making.”
The Chief Minister stated, “Such programmes were never on the agenda of previous regimes that ruined Punjab and left no stone unturned to plunder its wealth. The state government has been making strenuous efforts to ensure that the youth of the state benefit from such initiatives, thereby making Punjab a frontrunner state in the country.”
“Punjab is already leading the country in several core sectors such as Health, Education, Startups and others. The launch of the Sadak Surakhya Force, providing power to farmers during daytime, 300 units of free power and underground laying of high-tension power cables are among the innovative initiatives that have given a major impetus to the state’s economy,” stated CM Bhagwant Singh Mann.
