Aam Aadmi Clinic doctors sent back to dispensaries

The government has issued an order asking all doctors posted in Aam Aadmi clinics to rejoin their rural dispensaries.

Earlier, the government had deputed over 200 doctors from rural areas to these clinics, which had created much chaos and sparked protests against the government.

In a communique sent to all civil surgeons, the director of the National Health Mission said that the Rural Medical Officers of the Department of Rural Development and Panchayats will be sent back to their Subsidiary Health Centers (SHCs) where they were posted earlier.

Further, the appointment orders of the Punjab Civil Medical Services (PCMS) officers of the Health and Family Welfare Department posted at these advanced clinics would be issued in due course and they were directed to report to the concerned civil surgeons by that time. Will go

The order further states that a merit list has been prepared through a special module for empanelment of medical officers for the remaining clinics.

These clinics include the PHCs upgraded during the second phase from where the officials have sought relocation.

The merit list of empaneled doctors has been prepared city wise in case of urban areas of the district and district wise in case of rural areas of the district uploaded at the time of invitation based on the criteria specified in the terms and conditions of empanelment. Application during July 2022.

Just before the inauguration of nearly 400 Aam Aadmi clinics on 27 January, the government had deployed 202 doctors from PCMS and 135 rural medical officers, pharmacists and class IV staff in these clinics.
