According to the party’s statement, village phirnis (internal circular roads) and link roads are being paved and strengthened, improving connectivity and easing daily commuting for residents. The government claims that these works are being executed with durable materials to ensure longevity and reduce recurring maintenance costs.

AAP leaders stated that by concretising village roads, the administration has created infrastructure that is expected to remain intact for the next 8–10 years. Improved road networks are also seen as boosting agricultural transport, access to schools, healthcare facilities, and markets.

The party added that villagers have expressed satisfaction over visible development on the ground, saying such improvements enhance both convenience and safety in rural regions.

Officials maintained that rural infrastructure development remains a top priority of the Mann government, with continued focus on strengthening roads, drainage systems, and essential public amenities across Punjab’s villages.

Party representatives further stated that the rural road upgrades

Party representatives further stated that the rural road upgrades are part of a broader strategy to ensure balanced development between urban and rural Punjab. Along with paving internal village roads, efforts are also being made to improve drainage systems to prevent waterlogging during the monsoon season, which has historically damaged road surfaces and disrupted daily life.

Officials highlighted that better road connectivity not only improves transportation but also enhances emergency response services, allowing quicker access for ambulances, fire services, and law enforcement agencies in remote areas. Farmers, in particular, are expected to benefit from smoother transportation of crops to mandis and storage facilities.

The government has also directed local authorities to monitor the quality of construction work closely to ensure transparency and durability. Periodic inspections and community feedback mechanisms are being encouraged to maintain accountability at the village level.

AAP leaders reiterated that infrastructure expansion at the grassroots is central to the state’s long-term development roadmap, asserting that consistent investment in rural connectivity will strengthen Punjab’s economy and improve overall quality of life for its residents.
