The struggle continues in Punjab’s flood-affected areas, but in this difficult time, the Aam Aadmi Party government is standing shoulder to shoulder with the farmers. While the flood crisis persists on one side, government assistance and support from public representatives is equally strong on the other. This is a period when struggle and support are moving forward together.
AAP MP Seechewal is personally on the ground helping flood-affected farmers. He recently visited lands devastated by floods and started work alongside farmers to make the fields cultivable again. His team arrived at the fields with tractors and provided assistance to farmers in making a fresh start.
After the floods, many fields have accumulated silt and sand, making farming difficult. Recognizing this problem, the Punjab government has initiated a special scheme – “Jiska Khet, Uski Ret” (Whose Field, Their Sand). Under this scheme, farmers are being given ownership rights to the sand deposited in their fields, and the government is also providing complete assistance in removing that sand.
This is the first time any government in Punjab is working at such a grassroots level for flood-affected farmers. The Aam Aadmi Party government has proven that it doesn’t just make promises but also stands with people in difficult times. MP Seechewal’s presence has sparked new hope among farmers.
The government has provided special machinery and resources to remove sand from the fields. Additionally, farmers are being given technical advice and financial assistance so they can prepare for the next crop. AAP government representatives are actively involved throughout this entire process.
Farmers are very pleased with Balbir Singh Seechewal’s help. They say that previously after floods they were left alone, but now the MP himself is coming to the fields, listening to their problems, and providing immediate solutions. This is an example of genuine public service.
It will take time to recover from the flood devastation in Punjab, but the Aam Aadmi Party government has made it clear that it will stand with farmers at every step. Under Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s leadership, the entire government machinery is engaged in relief and rehabilitation work.
Balbir Singh Seechewal’s initiative shows that public representatives in the AAP government work not just by sitting in offices but by getting down on the ground. This is a government that understands the common person’s struggles and takes concrete steps to address them. This is a new beginning for farmers, with the government standing as their partner.
