AAP Punjab Highlights Bhagwant Mann Government’s Development Initiatives

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab has highlighted a series of development and welfare initiatives undertaken by the Bhagwant Mann-led state government, citing progress across agriculture, infrastructure, electricity, investment and road safety.

According to AAP Punjab, farmers in the state are receiving the highest sugarcane price in the country, with the government highlighting its focus on supporting the agricultural sector and improving farmers’ economic prospects.

The party also claimed that incidents of stubble burning in Punjab have declined by 53%, pointing to efforts aimed at addressing crop residue management and reducing air pollution caused by farm fires.

AAP Punjab further stated that Punjab has attracted investments worth approximately ₹1.75 lakh crore so far. The party said the investment figures reflect growing economic activity and efforts to strengthen the state’s industrial and business environment.

Road safety was another area highlighted by the party. According to AAP Punjab, the deployment of the Sadak Surakhya Force (SSF) has contributed to a 50% reduction in fatalities in road accidents. The force was introduced to strengthen emergency response and road safety measures across the state.

The ruling party also highlighted the state’s road infrastructure, claiming that around 43,000 kilometres of roads are being developed or improved. The initiative is aimed at enhancing connectivity and improving transportation infrastructure across Punjab.

On the power front, AAP Punjab said that around 90% of households in the state are receiving free electricity under the government’s power-related welfare measures. The party presented the scheme as a major component of its public welfare agenda.
