AIMS Mohali: From April 1, Dr BR Ambedkar State Institute of Medical Sciences and Hospital (AIMS) in Mohali Phase 6 would be revising its working hours. For general public, the Outpatient Department (OPD) registration counters would be operating from 7.30 am to 11.30 am.

According to a spokesperson, AIMS would be functioning from 8 am to 2:30 pm. It was clarified by the spokesperson that the change in timings was applicable only to the hospital and medical college in Mohali Phase 6 and not to other government health institutions in the district.

AIMS Mohali-Why Change In Timings?

The change in timings has been done to align the hospital’s schedule with other government medical colleges across the state of Punjab. However, patients and their families could access emergency services round the clock.

About AIMS Mohali

The fourth government-aided medical college of Punjab, AIMS is an autonomous society under the Punjab Government. It is affiliated with Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot.

Based in Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, AIMS is well connected with several rural and urban health centres for training of undergraduate students under community medicine. The hospital has 420 beds with 15 units of varying specialties.

Considered as one of the best multi-specialty healthcare institutions, AIMS Mohali offers a wide range of medical services under one roof. The hospital’s tertiary care services cater to critical and complex health conditions. It offers super-specialty treatments in areas such as nephrology, neonatology and paediatric surgery .This helps patients with severe, debilitating health conditions receive advanced and timely care, reducing the requirement for patients in Mohali and adjoining areas to travel to distant metropolitan hospitals for treatment.

Departments such as general medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, and orthopaedics form the backbone of routine and essential healthcare delivery. The hospital is also equipped with intensive care units (ICU), neonatal ICU (NICU) and paediatric ICU (PICU), enabling round-the-clock monitoring and management of critically ill patients.

Individuals can visit the ORS website to book their appointments online. They need to select the appointment type (new OPD or follow-up), choose the department, pick date and time and verify identify before confirming the booking.
