Ajnala incident: Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann to meet Home Minister Amit Shah

Regarding the current situation in Punjab, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi tomorrow, on March 2 at 3 pm. Questions are constantly being raised on the law and order of the state. Recently Khalistani supporter Amritpal Singh and his supporters entered Ajnala police station in Amritsar for the release of their comrade. Armed protesters created a ruckus and later the police agreed to release their accomplice Lovepreet Toofan. Due to this, many questions were raised regarding law and order in Punjab.

In such a situation, Bhagwant Mann's meeting with Home Minister Amit Shah has many implications. Earlier today on March 1, State Governor Banwarilal Purohit also met Amit Shah for about one hour. According to the information, there was a discussion between the two on various issues of Punjab including law and order.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had also sought an appointment with the Home Minister, about which news has come that both will meet at 3 pm on March 2.

18 Police officers transferred

Earlier, on February 28, the Punjab Police transferred 18 police officers, including the Police Commissioner of Amritsar, with immediate effect. Last week, six policemen were injured in demonstrations by Amritpal and his supporters. The order said that senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Naunihal Singh has been appointed as the Police Commissioner of Amritsar in place of Jaskaran Singh. It states that Jaskaran has been transferred to the post of Inspector General of Police (Intelligence), Mohali.

According to the order, the 18 police officers who have been transferred include 16 IPS officers and two Punjab Police Service officers. The transferred officers include senior IPS officers Arun Pal Singh, RK Jaiswal, GS Dhillon, Mohnish Chawla, SPS Parmar and Gursharan Singh Sandhu.
