Anti-Drug Drive: Bhagwant Mann Arrests 100 Smugglers on Day 355 of Campaign in Punjab

Bhagwant Mann reported major action under its ongoing anti-narcotics campaign Yudh Nashian Virudh, stating that 100 alleged drug smugglers were arrested during raids conducted across multiple locations in the state on Day 355 of the drive.

According to officials, the operation led to the recovery of:

  • 7.7 kg heroin
  • 100 grams opium
  • 6,631 intoxicant tablets/capsules
  • ₹8,760 suspected drug money

Authorities said raids were carried out simultaneously at several locations as part of a coordinated crackdown on drug trafficking networks.

Rehabilitation Efforts

Police also stated that 37 individuals were counselled and motivated to undergo de-addiction and rehabilitation, highlighting that the campaign focuses not only on enforcement but also on treatment and social reintegration.

Officials reported that since the launch of the anti-drug drive, a total of 5,038 drug smugglers have been arrested so far. Senior officers, including those of SP and DSP rank, supervised field operations to ensure effective enforcement and coordination.
