AAP national media in-charge Anurag Dhanda, in a post on social media platform X, highlighted that elderly citizens in Punjab are expressing deep gratitude to CM Bhagwant Mann, whom they affectionately refer to as their “son,” for ensuring dignified and hassle-free pilgrimages.
Under the Teerth Yatra Scheme, the Punjab government is arranging free religious यात्राएं (pilgrimages) for senior citizens to major spiritual destinations across the country. The scheme covers travel, accommodation, food, and medical assistance, enabling elderly devotees—many of whom could never afford such journeys—to fulfil their long-cherished spiritual aspirations.
According to party leaders, the initiative reflects the AAP government’s people-centric governance model, with a special focus on the welfare, respect, and emotional well-being of the elderly. Beneficiaries have praised the smooth arrangements and compassionate approach of the state administration.
