Aam Aadmi Party’s National Convener Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann participated as chief guests in the grand ‘One India Fest’ organized at Lovely Professional University (LPU). On this occasion, Mr. Kejriwal called this event “a magnificent celebration of India’s unity” and said that Punjab is now becoming not just a center of education, but also a symbol of cultural unity and collective development. Both leaders praised the grandeur and message of this program and inspired the youth to contribute to the nation’s progress.

In this program, thousands of students presented India’s diversity in a vibrant form under the ‘Mini India’ theme. Through folk dances, music, traditional attire, and cuisines from various states across the country—from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and Gujarat to Assam—students brought India’s rich cultural heritage onto one platform. This event was not only a cultural festival but also a direct demonstration of national unity and the spirit of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat” (One India, Great India).

During the program, the entire university campus was decorated with tableaux from various states, cultural performances, and traditional stalls. Students presented the cultural heritage from every corner of the country, including Punjab’s Bhangra, Rajasthan’s Ghoomar, Assam’s Bihu, Kerala’s Mohiniyattam, Gujarat’s Garba, and folk dances from Uttar Pradesh. Each performance reflected the students’ hard work, dedication, and deep attachment to their culture. Witnessing this, the audience became emotional and the entire atmosphere echoed with thunderous applause.

In his address, Mr. Arvind Kejriwal said that such events provide youth with an opportunity to connect with the country’s diversity and strengthen the spirit of brotherhood. He said, “India’s real strength lies in its diversity. When youth from different states, languages, and cultures come together and stand on one platform, it shows that we are all one.” He urged students to preserve their culture while also learning to respect other cultures.

In his address, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that the Punjab government is giving top priority to education and youth development. He said, “Our objective is not just to give degrees, but to make youth cultured, talented, and patriotic citizens. Institutions like Lovely Professional University are doing remarkable work in this direction.” He mentioned that the state government is bringing special schemes to promote cultural and creative activities in universities and colleges.

Welcoming both chief ministers, LPU Chancellor Mr. Ashok Mittal said that ‘One India Fest’ is the university’s biggest and most popular cultural event. He mentioned that this year, students from over 30 states participated in this program and approximately over 50,000 students, teachers, and guests became part of this festival. Mr. Mittal said, “Our objective is to provide students with a platform where they not only showcase their culture but also understand and appreciate others’ cultures.”

During the program, traditional cuisines from various states were also organized, where students prepared and served special dishes from their states. Punjab’s Sarson ka Saag and Makki ki Roti, Bengal’s fish and Rasgulla, Hyderabad’s Biryani, Gujarat’s Dhokla and Thepla, Maharashtra’s Vada Pav, South India’s Dosa-Idli, and many other dishes filled the entire campus with their aroma. Along with food, exhibitions of handicrafts, traditional jewelry, and artworks were also set up, showcasing India’s rich art and craft tradition.

Mr. Kejriwal gave special congratulations to LPU Chancellor Mr. Ashok Mittal and the entire team for this wonderful event. He said, “Punjab’s youth is India’s future. Nurturing their talent and helping them progress is our biggest responsibility. The energy and enthusiasm I witnessed here today assures me that India’s future is bright.” He told the youth that they should not only think about their careers but also understand their responsibilities toward the country and society.

Lovely Professional University’s ‘One India Fest’ has today become a national-level cultural platform. It brings together thousands of students from across the country every year and realizes the ideal of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat.” This festival is not only a means of preserving cultural heritage but also a powerful medium to awaken the spirit of national unity, social harmony, and pride among youth. The presence of both chief ministers made this event even more memorable and significant.
