Bhagwant Mann Announces ₹1 Crore Ex-Gratia for Family of Martyred ASI Harjit Singh

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann paid tribute to Assistant Sub-Inspector Harjit Singh, who lost his life while performing his duty in Amritsar district. Mann praised the police officer’s courage and dedication, saying his sacrifice would always be remembered.

The Chief Minister said the Punjab government stands firmly with the family of the martyred police officer during this difficult time. As a mark of respect, the state government will provide ₹1 crore in ex-gratia assistance to the family.

Additional ₹1 Crore Insurance Support From HDFC Bank

Along with the government compensation, the family will also receive an additional ₹1 crore insurance benefit from HDFC Bank, according to Bhagwant Mann.

This takes the total financial assistance announced for the family to ₹2 crore, comprising the state government’s ex-gratia payment and the insurance support.

Bhagwant Mann Pays Tribute to ASI Harjit Singh

Mann expressed his respect for Harjit Singh’s courage and commitment to duty. He said the officer’s dedication while performing his responsibilities would continue to be remembered.

The Chief Minister also said the sacrifice of police personnel who lose their lives in the line of duty serves as a reminder of the courage and commitment required to protect society.

Bhagwant Mann said the Punjab government remains committed to providing all possible assistance to the families of personnel who make the ultimate sacrifice while performing their duties.

He said the sacrifice of ASI Harjit Singh would continue to inspire others to perform their responsibilities with courage, honesty and dedication.
