According to the Punjab Police, the crackdown was carried out under its sustained anti-drug campaign, which has now completed 581 days. The operations were conducted with the objective of disrupting drug networks and curbing the circulation of narcotic substances in Punjab.
During the operations, police recovered 11.7 kg of heroin, 672 grams of opium and 80 kg of poppy husk from the arrested suspects. A total of 1,699 intoxicant pills were also seized.
The police further recovered ₹15,600 in suspected drug money during the crackdown. The seizures indicate continued enforcement efforts against the supply and distribution of narcotic substances in the state.
Alongside enforcement action, the Punjab Police also focused on rehabilitation and de-addiction. As part of the initiative, 29 individuals were counselled and encouraged to seek de-addiction and rehabilitation treatment.
The police said that the campaign is being carried out as part of its continued efforts to tackle drug-related activities and strengthen action against those involved in drug trafficking.
The combination of arrests, narcotics seizures and rehabilitation counselling reflects the Punjab Police’s approach of addressing both the supply of drugs and the need for treatment among individuals affected by substance abuse.
The latest action comes as the state police continues its sustained campaign against drug networks under the anti-narcotics drive. Authorities have reiterated their focus on identifying and dismantling networks involved in the illegal supply of drugs while encouraging people struggling with addiction to seek professional treatment.
