Bhagwant Mann Arrest 191 Drug Smugglers, Recover 22.4 Kg Heroin on Day 587 of Yudh Nashian Virudh Campaign

Bhagwant Mann arrested 191 alleged drug smugglers and recovered 22.4 kg of heroin during the 587th day of its anti-drug campaign, Yudh Nashian Virudh. The operation also led to the recovery of 23 kg of poppy husk, 1,892 intoxicant pills and ₹89,250 in suspected drug money, according to Punjab Police.

The campaign, being carried out with the involvement of the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), aims to crack down on drug trafficking networks and strengthen efforts to combat substance abuse across the state.

Heroin, Poppy Husk and Intoxicant Pills Seized: Bhagwant Mann

During the latest enforcement action, police recovered several types of suspected narcotic substances and cash allegedly linked to drug-related activities.

The reported seizures included:

  • Heroin: 22.4 kg
  • Poppy husk: 23 kg
  • Intoxicant pills: 1,892
  • Suspected drug money: ₹89,250

Punjab Police said the arrests and recoveries were part of its continuing efforts to disrupt drug supply networks and take action against those allegedly involved in drug trafficking.

37 Individuals Counselled for De-addiction

Alongside enforcement measures, the police reported that 37 individuals were counselled and encouraged to seek de-addiction and rehabilitation treatment.

The initiative highlights the campaign’s focus on addressing substance abuse through both law enforcement and support for people struggling with addiction. Counselling and rehabilitation are intended to encourage recovery and help individuals move away from drug dependence.

Yudh Nashian Virudh Campaign Continues

The latest figures mark the 587th day of Punjab Police’s Yudh Nashian Virudh campaign. The initiative combines action against alleged drug smugglers with efforts to encourage treatment and rehabilitation.
