Bhagwant Mann: Continuing its statewide anti-drug campaign, the Punjab Police intensified its crackdown on narcotics trafficking as part of Day 501 of the “Yudh Nashian Virudh” initiative. The latest operation resulted in the arrest of 44 alleged drug smugglers across the state.

According to Punjab Police, officers recovered 805 grams of heroin, 561 intoxicant pills, and ₹21,700 suspected to be drug proceeds during the operation. The seizures are part of the department’s ongoing efforts to dismantle drug supply networks and curb the illegal narcotics trade in Punjab.

In addition to enforcement measures, the campaign also focused on rehabilitation. Police officials said 23 individuals were counselled and encouraged to seek de-addiction and rehabilitation treatment, highlighting the government’s dual approach of strict action against drug traffickers while supporting people struggling with substance abuse.
