Bhagwant Mann has intensified its ongoing campaign against drug trafficking, reporting the arrest of 52 alleged drug smugglers and the recovery of heroin, opium, intoxicant pills and suspected drug money as part of its sustained crackdown on narcotics networks.
6.2 Kg Heroin Recovered: Bhagwant Mann
According to Punjab Police, its latest action resulted in the recovery of 6.2 kg of heroin, along with 50 grams of opium, 150 intoxicant pills and ₹4,900 in suspected drug money.
The action forms part of the police force’s continued efforts under its #YudhNashianVirudh campaign, which aims to disrupt drug supply networks and take action against those involved in narcotics trafficking.
52 Drug Smugglers Arrested
Police said 52 individuals allegedly involved in drug smuggling were arrested during the latest crackdown. The arrests are part of the wider enforcement campaign being carried out against drug-related activities across Punjab.
Focus on Rehabilitation
Alongside enforcement, Punjab Police also highlighted its focus on helping people struggling with substance addiction. Nine individuals were counselled and persuaded to undergo de-addiction and rehabilitation treatment.
The approach combines action against drug suppliers with efforts to encourage affected individuals to seek professional treatment and return to a healthier life.
