Bhagwant Mann has intensified its campaign against drug trafficking in the state, arresting 54 alleged drug smugglers and recovering heroin, poppy husk, intoxicant pills and cash linked to drug activities.

According to Punjab Police, the arrests were made as part of its sustained anti-drug drive under the #YudhNashianVirudh campaign, which has been continuing for 545 days.
Recover Heroin and Other Narcotics in Statewide Crackdown
During the operation, police teams recovered 3.9 kg of heroin, 10 kg of poppy husk and 80 intoxicant pills from the accused. Police also seized ₹900 in suspected drug money.
Alongside enforcement action, Punjab Police said it is focusing on rehabilitation and prevention as part of its broader strategy against drug abuse. Six individuals were counselled and persuaded to undergo de-addiction and rehabilitation treatment.
The latest action highlights the Punjab Police’s dual approach of targeting drug supply networks while encouraging people struggling with substance abuse to seek professional treatment and rehabilitation.
Authorities have reiterated their commitment to continuing the crackdown on drug trafficking and strengthening efforts to build a drug-free Punjab.
