Punjab Police has intensified its campaign against drug trafficking under the ongoing #YudhNashianVirudh drive, arresting 65 alleged drug smugglers and recovering a substantial quantity of narcotics, including heroin, opium and poppy husk.

According to Punjab Police, the crackdown resulted in the recovery of 731 grams of heroin, 10 kg of opium, 268 kg of poppy husk and 140 intoxicant pills. Police also seized ₹3,500 in suspected drug proceeds during the operations.
The action is part of the Punjab Police’s sustained efforts to disrupt drug supply networks and take action against those involved in the illegal narcotics trade.
Alongside enforcement measures, police also focused on rehabilitation. Six individuals were counselled and encouraged to seek de-addiction and rehabilitation treatment, highlighting the department’s efforts to address substance abuse through both prevention and recovery initiatives.
The latest arrests and seizures underscore Punjab Police’s continued focus on curbing drug trafficking and reducing the availability of narcotics across the state.
