Punjab Police has intensified its ongoing anti-drug campaign under the ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’ initiative, continuing its statewide crackdown on drug trafficking networks.
Bhagwant Mann Arrest 68 Drug Smugglers
According to an official update shared by Punjab Police, authorities arrested 68 alleged drug smugglers during the latest operation. The police also recovered 481 grams of heroin, 40 kilograms of poppy husk, 567 intoxicant pills, and ₹1,040 suspected to be drug money from the accused.

In addition to enforcement measures, Punjab Police said 11 individuals were counselled and persuaded to undergo de-addiction and rehabilitation treatment, highlighting the state’s focus on both law enforcement and rehabilitation in tackling substance abuse.
The anti-drug campaign has now completed 511 days, with police stating that sustained action against narcotics networks remains a key priority. The initiative is being carried out under the leadership of the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, with the aim of curbing drug trafficking and promoting a drug-free Punjab.
