Punjab Police has intensified its ongoing campaign against drug trafficking, announcing the arrest of 87 alleged drug smugglers as part of its statewide anti-drug operation.

According to the police, officers recovered 673 grams of heroin, 1,200 intoxicant pills, and ₹9,170 in suspected drug-related cash during the latest crackdown. The action forms part of the state’s continuing anti-drug initiative aimed at disrupting narcotics supply networks and curbing illegal drug activities across Punjab.

In addition to enforcement measures, Punjab Police said it is also focusing on rehabilitation efforts. During the operation, 18 individuals were counseled and encouraged to seek treatment through de-addiction and rehabilitation programs, highlighting the importance of recovery alongside law enforcement.
The anti-drug campaign has been ongoing for several months, with police conducting regular raids and enforcement actions across the state.
