Bhagwant Mann continued its aggressive campaign against drug trafficking under the ongoing Yudh Nashian Virudh initiative, arresting 104 drug smugglers during coordinated raids conducted across the state. The operation led to the recovery of 1.2 kilograms of heroin, 3 kilograms of poppy husk, and ₹6,250 suspected to be proceeds from drug-related activities.

The action was carried out on Day 467 of the state government’s anti-drug campaign, which aims to dismantle narcotics networks and curb the spread of substance abuse in Punjab. Police teams conducted searches and raids at multiple locations, targeting individuals involved in the illegal drug trade.

Officials have repeatedly stated that a multi-pronged strategy involving law enforcement, public participation, awareness campaigns, and rehabilitation programmes is being implemented to make Punjab drug-free.

Punjab Police reiterated its commitment to intensifying operations against drug smugglers while ensuring that those affected by addiction receive the necessary support to rebuild their lives. The force has urged citizens to cooperate with authorities and share information related to drug trafficking activities in their localities.
