The Bhagwant Mann has continued its crackdown on drug networks under its ongoing anti-drug campaign, arresting 106 alleged drug smugglers and recovering heroin, opium, poppy husk, intoxicant pills and suspected drug money, according to the police.

106 Drug Smugglers Arrested
According to the Punjab Police, 106 drug smugglers were arrested during the latest phase of the crackdown, marking 580 days of the state’s ongoing #YudhNashianVirudh campaign in coordination with the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) Punjab.
The police said the operation was aimed at disrupting drug networks and taking action against those involved in drug trafficking.
Heroin, Opium and Other Narcotics Recovered
The Punjab Police reported the recovery of 500 grams of heroin, 587 grams of opium, 16 kg of poppy husk and 272 intoxicant pills from the arrested individuals.
The operation also resulted in the recovery of ₹46,000 in suspected drug money, according to the police.
17 Individuals Encouraged to Seek Rehabilitation
Alongside enforcement action, the Punjab Police said 17 individuals were counselled and encouraged to undergo de-addiction and rehabilitation treatment.
The police said the approach combines action against drug trafficking with efforts to encourage individuals affected by substance use to seek treatment and rehabilitation.
