Punjab Police intensified its ongoing anti-drug campaign “Yudh Nashian Virudh”, arresting 121 alleged drug smugglers as part of a statewide crackdown on narcotics trafficking.

During the operation, police recovered 8.7 kilograms of heroin, 580 grams of opium, 2 kilograms of poppy husk, 848 intoxicant pills, and ₹4.18 lakh in suspected drug money from the accused.
The action forms part of the Punjab Government’s continued efforts to dismantle drug trafficking networks and curb the illegal narcotics trade across the state.

Alongside enforcement measures, Punjab Police also focused on rehabilitation by counselling 15 individuals and motivating them to undergo de-addiction and rehabilitation treatment, highlighting the state’s dual approach of strict law enforcement and support for those struggling with substance abuse.
The anti-drug drive remains a key initiative aimed at making Punjab drug-free through sustained police action, public awareness, and rehabilitation efforts.
