Bhagwant Mann Arrests 38 Drug Smugglers in Statewide Anti-Narcotics Drive

Punjab Police continued its anti-drug campaign under the ongoing “Yudh Nashian Virudh” initiative, carrying out raids across the state and taking action against alleged drug trafficking networks.

According to official information released by Punjab Police, 38 alleged drug smugglers were arrested during operations conducted on Day 455 of the campaign. Police teams also recovered 112 grams of heroin, 61 kilograms of poppy husk, 60 intoxicant pills, and ₹3,060 suspected to be linked to drug-related activities.

Officials stated that the crackdown was carried out at multiple locations across Punjab as part of sustained efforts to curb the supply and distribution of narcotic substances.

In addition to enforcement measures, Punjab Police said that 15 individuals were counselled and encouraged to undergo de-addiction and rehabilitation treatment, highlighting the administration’s focus on both law enforcement and rehabilitation.

According to police data, a total of 65,824 alleged drug smugglers have been arrested since the launch of the “Yudh Nashian Virudh” campaign.

Punjab Police reiterated its commitment to combating drug trafficking, dismantling narcotics networks, and promoting rehabilitation initiatives aimed at reducing substance abuse across the state.
