Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Thursday attended the inaugural ceremony of the Progressive Punjab Investors’ Summit 2026 in Mohali along with Arvind Kejriwal, the national convener of the Aam Aadmi Party. During the event, the leaders welcomed industrialists and investors who arrived from across the country and abroad to explore investment opportunities in Punjab.

Addressing the gathering, Mann said the summit represents not just an industrial event but the beginning of a new phase of economic growth, investment and employment generation in Punjab. He emphasized that the state government is focused on creating a strong industrial ecosystem that can attract large-scale investments and strengthen the state’s economy.

According to the Chief Minister, since March 2022, investments worth ₹1.58 lakh crore have been made in Punjab, resulting in employment opportunities for more than 5.5 lakh youth. He stated that these investments are contributing to the expansion of industries and helping boost job creation across different sectors.

Mann also highlighted the state’s new industrial policy, which aims to provide a business-friendly environment for entrepreneurs and companies. The policy focuses on simplifying procedures and ensuring that investors can operate without unnecessary hurdles while expanding their business operations in the state.

The Chief Minister further announced that a major steel plant by the Tata Group is set to begin operations in Ludhiana from March 20, which is expected to further strengthen the industrial base of the region and generate additional employment opportunities.

He reiterated that the government’s long-term goal is to transform young people from job seekers into job creators, encouraging entrepreneurship and innovation across the state. Mann added that the administration remains fully committed to the overall development of Punjab and invited investors to partner in building a prosperous and vibrant state.

The summit is expected to bring together business leaders, policymakers and industry representatives to explore new investment opportunities and collaborations that can accelerate economic development and industrial growth in Punjab.
