Bhagwant Mann: In a major breakthrough against narco-terrorism, the State Special Operations Cell (SSOC), SAS Nagar, has arrested Satnam Singh, a key financial conduit of an inter-state and cross-border narco-terror module. The operation was carried out based on precise intelligence inputs, Punjab Police said on Saturday.
Bhagwant Mann Bust Narco-Terror Funding Link
Preliminary investigations have revealed that the accused played a crucial role in terror financing by allowing his bank account and UPI credentials to be used for routing money generated through heroin trafficking. These transactions were allegedly conducted at the direction of a Pakistan-based drug smuggler, establishing a direct financial link between drug trafficking and terror activities.
Links to Heroin Smuggling, Arms Trafficking, and Sirsa Grenade Attack
According to investigators, the dismantled network has been linked to large-scale heroin recoveries, illegal arms trafficking, and the grenade attack in Sirsa, Haryana, in November 2025. The arrest is being seen as a significant step in uncovering the financial backbone of narco-terror modules operating across borders.
Punjab Police officials stated that financial channels are increasingly being used to camouflage terror funding, making such intelligence-led actions critical to national security.
Zero-Tolerance Policy Against Narco-Terrorism
Reiterating the state government’s firm stance, Punjab Police emphasized its zero-tolerance approach towards narco-terror networks. The focus, officials said, is on dismantling such modules by targeting their financial and logistical infrastructure, rather than only arresting foot soldiers.
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Punjab Police remains committed to safeguarding national security and has vowed to take relentless and decisive action against all individuals and networks involved in anti-national activities.
Further investigations are underway to identify additional operatives, financial beneficiaries, and cross-border handlers linked to the module.
