Aam Aadmi Clinics have emerged as a crucial pillar of maternal healthcare in Punjab, significantly improving access to essential medical services for pregnant women across the state. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab government has strengthened prenatal care by integrating free diagnostic and screening facilities through these clinics.
Bhagwant Mann Clinics Play Key Role in Maternal Healthcare in Punjab, Over 20,000 Pregnant Women Benefit Monthly
According to official data shared by AAP Punjab, nearly 20,000 pregnant women are benefiting every month from services provided at Aam Aadmi Clinics. In the last four months alone, more than 10,000 women have availed free ultrasound scan facilities, ensuring timely monitoring and early detection of pregnancy-related complications.
Mann government has empanelled around 500 diagnostic centres
The initiative has also resulted in substantial financial relief for families. The government estimates that over ₹1 crore has been saved by families across Punjab, as costly diagnostic procedures are now being provided free of charge under the public healthcare system.
To further expand coverage, the Mann government has empanelled around 500 diagnostic centres across the state, enabling registered pregnant women to access free ultrasound scans and other essential tests without delay. Health officials say this move has improved service reach, especially in rural and semi-urban areas where access to private diagnostic facilities was limited.
Experts believe that strengthening maternal healthcare at the primary level through Aam Aadmi Clinics will help reduce pregnancy-related risks, improve institutional care, and promote healthier outcomes for both mothers and newborns.
The Punjab government has reiterated its commitment to building a robust, people-centric healthcare system, with special focus on women and child health, making quality medical services accessible and affordable for every citizen.
