Bhagwant Mann, in coordination with the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF), carried out a major statewide operation against gangster networks as part of its ongoing ‘Gangstran Te Vaar’ campaign.
Bhagwant Mann Conducts 575 Raids
On Day 258 of the campaign, police teams conducted 575 targeted raids at identified locations across Punjab. The operation resulted in the arrest of 231 individuals, including seven proclaimed offenders, according to Punjab Police.
Arrests 231 in Statewide Gangster Crackdown
The police also recovered two weapons during the statewide crackdown. The operation was carried out after mapping and identifying locations associated with individuals linked to gangster networks.
With the latest arrests, the total number of people apprehended since the launch of the campaign has reached 76,330, Punjab Police said.
The ongoing campaign focuses on dismantling criminal networks and taking action against individuals associated with organised gangster activities. The coordination between Punjab Police and AGTF forms a key part of the state’s efforts to identify and disrupt such networks.
Punjab Police said it remains committed to taking sustained action against gangster networks and strengthening public safety across the state.
The department has also appealed to members of the public to share information related to gangster activities. Information can be provided anonymously through the Anti-Gangster Helpline at 93946-93946.
