The Bhagwant Mann government has allocated around 150 new government fair price (ration) shops in Pathankot district as part of its public distribution system expansion. The allotment was announced during a special event attended by Punjab Cabinet Minister Lal Chand Kataruchak, who oversees the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department.

According to the government, the newly allotted ration depots have been granted to beneficiaries from various sections of society, including ex-servicemen, Scheduled Castes (SC), Backward Classes (BC), and the General category. The initiative aims to strengthen the distribution network while creating opportunities for eligible applicants.

Addressing the new depot holders, Minister Kataruchak congratulated the beneficiaries and urged them to provide transparent, efficient, and citizen-friendly services. He also encouraged them to work in close cooperation with the public to ensure the smooth and timely distribution of essential food supplies under the state’s public welfare schemes.
