Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab government has announced year-long programmes to commemorate the 650th Prakash Diwas of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji. The celebrations will begin with the Bhog of Sri Akhand Path Sahib and will continue for an entire year across Punjab.

According to the Aam Aadmi Party’s Punjab unit, the Mann-led state government will bear the entire expenditure for the commemorative programmes. The government stated that the initiative is being undertaken with devotion and humility, as a mark of respect to the spiritual, social and philosophical contributions of Guru Ravidas Ji.

The year-long observance will include religious, cultural and social programmes aimed at spreading Guru Ravidas Ji’s message of equality, social justice and human dignity. The state government said special emphasis will be laid on educating the younger generation about the Guru’s teachings and their relevance in contemporary society.
Cabinet Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond said the programmes would be organised in coordination with religious institutions and community organisations. He appealed to the sangat to actively participate in the events and draw inspiration from the life and teachings of Guru Ravidas Ji.
The Punjab government further stated that the celebrations reflect Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s commitment to honouring saints and social reformers who worked for an inclusive and egalitarian society. The initiatives, the government said, aim to strengthen social harmony and reinforce the values of unity and mutual respect across communities.
