Under the new policy, the government has eliminated the requirement of submitting a test report for connections up to 50 KW, a move expected to benefit thousands of consumers, especially small industries, businesses, and households. For higher capacity connections above 50 KW, the process has also been streamlined to ensure minimal paperwork and faster approvals.

The initiative aligns with Punjab’s broader agenda

Power Minister Arora emphasized that these changes are part of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s vision to provide hassle-free, transparent, and efficient services to the people. The initiative aligns with Punjab’s broader agenda of improving governance and reducing bureaucratic delays in public utilities.

Citizens have welcomed this step, calling it a progressive reform that will make obtaining new electricity connections smoother and quicker. The government reiterated its commitment to ensuring uninterrupted power supply and user-friendly processes under the ongoing “Har Ghar Bijli, Har Dil Khushi” campaign.
