The Bhagwant Mann government has distributed property ownership documents to 354 families in Jassowal village under the Mera Ghar Mere Naam scheme, Health Minister Dr Balbir Singh said.
In a post on X, Singh said the Bhagwant Mann-led government was working to grant ownership rights to residents living in houses within the Lal Lakir area, addressing long-standing concerns over legal ownership.
354 Families Receive Ownership Documents: Bhagwant Mann
According to Singh, ownership-related documents were distributed to 354 families in Jassowal under the scheme. The initiative aims to provide eligible residents with official documentation recognising their rights over their homes.
Singh said the move would help end generations of waiting for ownership recognition and provide families with greater security regarding their property.
What Is the Mera Ghar Mere Naam Scheme?
The scheme focuses on eligible residents living within the Lal Lakir areas of villages. These areas traditionally mark the residential portions of villages, where property ownership and documentation have sometimes remained unresolved.
By issuing ownership documents, the initiative seeks to give eligible households formal recognition of their residential property rights. Such documentation can provide greater clarity over ownership and help residents establish their claims to their homes.
Government Highlights Property Security for Families
Singh described the distribution as an important step towards securing the future of residents by providing legal recognition of their homes.
For families who have lived in these properties for generations, formal ownership documentation can offer greater certainty about their residential rights and reduce uncertainty over property claims.
