Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema has highlighted the benefits of the Punjab government’s ‘Teerth Yatra’ (Pilgrimage) Scheme, stating that the initiative is providing senior citizens with an opportunity to visit revered religious destinations without financial burden.

In a social media post, Cheema said the scheme, introduced by the Bhagwant Mann-led government, has become a major support for elderly citizens by enabling them to undertake pilgrimages free of cost.
Free Pilgrimage Scheme for Senior Citizens
According to the minister, beneficiaries are travelling to sacred places without having to bear travel expenses or face logistical difficulties. The government is also providing arrangements for accommodation and meals, making the pilgrimage comfortable and convenient for senior citizens.
The Punjab government has said the scheme is aimed at ensuring that elderly residents can visit important religious sites with dignity while receiving necessary travel and hospitality support.
