The Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab government continues its aggressive campaign against drug trafficking under the flagship initiative ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’, with Punjab Police intensifying action across the state. On Day 318 of the sustained crackdown, police teams arrested 68 drug smugglers and seized 2.7 kilograms of heroin, dealing another major blow to organised drug networks operating in Punjab.
Bhagwant Mann Government Intensifies Anti-Drug Drive in Punjab
According to official data shared by Punjab Police, coordinated raids were conducted at 228 locations across the state, reflecting the government’s zero-tolerance approach towards narcotics. With these arrests, the total number of drug smugglers apprehended in 318 days has risen to 44,312, highlighting the scale and consistency of the ongoing operation.

Alongside strict enforcement, the Bhagwant Mann government is also focusing on rehabilitation and recovery. On the same day, 31 individuals were motivated to undergo de-addiction and rehabilitation treatment, reinforcing the state’s twin strategy of law enforcement and social reform. Officials said the aim is not only to dismantle drug supply chains but also to help affected individuals return to a healthy and productive life.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has repeatedly stated that Punjab’s peace, youth, and future will not be compromised at any cost. The anti-drug campaign, led by Punjab Police and the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), is being monitored closely at the highest levels to ensure accountability and results.
Senior police officials noted that intelligence-led operations, technological surveillance, and inter-district coordination have strengthened the effectiveness of the drive. The campaign has also encouraged public cooperation, with citizens increasingly coming forward to share information related to drug peddling.
