Under this flagship health initiative, every eligible family in Punjab will be entitled to free medical treatment worth up to ₹10 lakh. The scheme reflects the Mann government’s commitment to ensuring accessible, affordable, and quality healthcare for all citizens, especially economically weaker sections.
The scheme is expected to benefit lakhs of families across the state
According to the AAP Punjab government, the Mukhyamantri Health Insurance Scheme aims to reduce the financial burden of medical expenses on families by covering major treatments, surgeries, and hospitalisation costs. The scheme is expected to benefit lakhs of families across the state, offering cashless treatment at empanelled hospitals.
Officials stated that the registration process has been simplified to ensure maximum participation. Dedicated teams have been deployed at registration centres to assist people with documentation and enrollment. The government has also indicated that similar registration drives will be expanded to other districts in the coming days.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has repeatedly emphasised that public health remains a top priority for his government. By launching this large-scale health insurance scheme, the Punjab government aims to build a stronger, more inclusive healthcare system where no citizen is denied treatment due to lack of money.
Residents have been encouraged to register at the earliest to avail the benefits of the scheme and secure comprehensive health coverage for their families.
