Punjab continues its strong fight against drug abuse as the government intensifies its “Yudh Nashian Virudh” campaign. Under the leadership of Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab Police is taking strict action to break the drug network and create a safer society.
Major Crackdown by Punjab Police
In a major operation, the Punjab Police arrested 87 drug smugglers across different parts of the state. Along with the arrests, authorities also recovered:
- 1.1 kg heroin
- 2 kg poppy husk
- 408 intoxicant tablets/capsules
- ₹17,950 drug money
This action clearly shows that the government is serious about eliminating drugs from Punjab and taking strict steps against those involved in illegal activities
Focus on Rehabilitation Along with Action
While strict action is being taken against smugglers, the government is also focusing on helping people who are affected by addiction. During the campaign, 39 individuals were persuaded to undergo de-addiction and rehabilitation treatment. This step highlights a balanced approach, not just punishment but also recovery and support for those who want to rebuild their lives.
