According to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab unit, all preparatory formalities for the ambitious scheme have been completed. Over the next three to four months, health cards under the scheme will be issued to every family across Punjab, ensuring universal health coverage without discrimination.

Under the scheme, each family will be entitled to free treatment worth up to ₹10 lakh annually. The treatment will be completely cashless, reducing the financial burden on households and ensuring timely access to quality healthcare services.

A key highlight of the initiative is that beneficiaries will be able to avail treatment at PGI Chandigarh along with 32 major empanelled hospitals. This inclusion significantly strengthens the scheme by providing access to some of the most advanced medical facilities in the region.

The Mann government has described the scheme as one of its most people-centric initiatives, designed to eliminate out-of-pocket medical expenses and ensure that no citizen is denied treatment due to lack of money. The government has also clarified that there will be no complex eligibility conditions, making the scheme accessible to all families in the state.
