Bhagwant Mann Government Transfers ₹3,000 to ₹4,500 to Accounts of Nearly 6 Lakh Women as Rakhi Gift

The financial assistance announced by the government is being presented as an additional measure aimed at supporting women economically.

Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has fulfilled his promise by transferring financial assistance ranging from ₹3,000 to ₹4,500 into the bank accounts of nearly six lakh women on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.

Cheema described the financial assistance as a special Rakhi gift for mothers and sisters across Punjab, saying the initiative aims to support women and strengthen their financial independence.

According to Cheema, the assistance will not only help women become more self-reliant but will also provide meaningful support for meeting household expenses. He said the Punjab government’s focus remains on ensuring the dignity, welfare and empowerment of women.

The minister further stated that respecting and empowering women is among the key priorities of the Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab government.

The announcement comes on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, a festival that celebrates the bond between brothers and sisters. The financial assistance announced by the government is being presented as an additional measure aimed at supporting women economically.
