Bhagwant Mann Government Witnesses Statewide Mega PTM Drive in Government Schools Under Sikhya Kranti

The initiative reflects the Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab government’s emphasis on holistic education reforms.

Bhagwant Mann Government marked a major milestone in school education on Thursday as every government school across the state simultaneously hosted a Mega Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM) and Parent Workshop, an initiative described as the first of its kind in the country. The move aims to actively involve parents in their children’s academic journey and strengthen learning outcomes beyond classrooms.

Sharing details of the initiative, Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains said the Mega PTM focuses not only on academic performance but also on helping parents understand modern education systems, digital tools, emotional well-being, and skill development. He emphasized that when parents are aligned with schools, children show better results in studies, confidence, and overall personality development.

Under the Punjab Sikhya Kranti, the workshops were designed to train parents on how they can support home learning, encourage discipline without pressure, and adapt to changing educational needs in the digital age. Teachers interacted closely with parents, discussed individual student progress, and addressed concerns related to learning gaps and emotional health.

The initiative reflects the Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab government’s emphasis on holistic education reforms, where parents, teachers, and schools function as a unified team. Officials said such engagement helps bridge the gap between school education and home environments, ensuring consistent learning support for students.

Education department sources added that the Mega PTM will be followed by regular parent engagement programs, feedback mechanisms, and community-level education awareness drives. The government aims to replicate this collaborative model to further improve the quality of education in Punjab’s government schools and build a strong foundation for future generations.
