Bhagwant Mann Government’s Revolutionary Step in Healthcare

This step is being hailed as a game-changer for middle-class and poor families, who often struggle with rising medical costs.

The Punjab government’s Chief Minister Health Card scheme, offering free medical treatment up to ₹10 lakh, has received a massive response from citizens. In the first phase of registrations, launched in Tarn Taran and Barnala districts, as many as 28,187 people have already enrolled.

Statewide Expansion Planned

Officials confirmed that special registration camps will soon be organised in all districts of Punjab. These camps aim to make the process simple and accessible, ensuring that every eligible family gets covered under the scheme.

Financial Security for Families

The CM Health Card will provide cashless treatment facilities at both government and empanelled private hospitals. This step is being hailed as a game-changer for middle-class and poor families, who often struggle with rising medical costs.

“Earlier, people had to sell land or borrow money for costly treatments. Now, this card will bring them relief and dignity,” said a health department official overseeing the registrations.

Bhagwant Mann’s Vision for Healthcare

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has described the scheme as a revolutionary leap in Punjab’s health sector. He said the initiative will not only ensure timely treatment but also strengthen the state’s vision of a healthy and secure Punjab.

“No family should suffer or lose a loved one due to lack of money. With this card, we are fulfilling our promise to make healthcare a right, not a privilege,” CM Mann stated.

People’s Overwhelming Response

Local residents in Tarn Taran and Barnala expressed happiness after registering for the card. Gurpreet Kaur, a resident of Barnala, said, “This card gives us hope. We can now get treatment for serious illnesses without worrying about money.”

AAP Highlights Welfare Governance

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has projected the CM Health Card as one of its most significant welfare reforms in Punjab. On social media, AAP Punjab called it a “krantikari kadam (revolutionary step)” that will transform healthcare access for lakhs of families.
